Eataly Rome, party for the 10th anniversary of the Capitoline Store

On 21 June 2022, Eataly Rome will blow out 10 candles and is preparing to celebrate this important milestone with a full program of events. The tenth birthday of the large market in the Ostiense area will be celebrated with the typical flavors of Roman cuisine. For this occasion Ostissimi, the association of the most “tough” hosts in Rome will prepare a menu with some of the most iconic dishes of the Roman tradition in the Pizza & Cucina restaurant. In the kitchen there will be the chefs of Flavio al Velavevodetto, L’Oste in Rome in Banchi Vecchi, Hosteria Grappolo d’oro, Da Roberto and Loretta, Proloco Trastevere, Rosario, Osteria Fratelli Mori, Tonda.

Eataly’s adventure in the capital began in 2012 with the redevelopment of the structure created to be the Ostiense Air Terminal built for the 1990 World Cup by the postmodern architect Julio Lafuente and then remained for many years not fully usable by citizens and tourists. It has continued, over the years, with multiple initiatives dedicated to the territory and the neighborhood, which have celebrated the best of Made in Italy production and catering. In 2012, the reopening of the imposing structure returned to the city a wonderful place that has become a stage for cultural and entertainment events.

“Eataly Rome is our most ambitious store ever built – says Nicola Farinetti, CEO of Eataly – designed to attract worldwide attention to the immense food and wine heritage of Lazio and our country. It was a great challenge to bring a beautiful building back to life that had been in disuse for so long. 10 years have passed and Eataly Roma is now an active part of a lively neighborhood and a city that welcomed us and with which we have collaborated for events, festivals and cultural moments. A special thanks goes to all our staff who strive day after day to make our visitors live authentic experiences. ”

The large market of Eataly Rome has opened its doors to more than 100 producers from the Lazio Region and offers more than 14,000 products that represent the best of our agri-food traditions. It registers 3 million visitors every year and over 8,000 participants in educational appointments.

The Roman house of Eataly is the largest in the world: about 17,000 square meters dedicated to Italian excellence, divided into four levels. The ground floor houses the Lazio Producers Market and a square overlooked by street food proposals; going up to the first floor you will find the Brewery, the Gastronomy, the Dairy with the production on sight and the Pizza & Cucina restaurant. The second floor houses the Grande Enoteca with over 25,000 bottles and the Terra restaurant, a successful format born from the experience of Eataly Boston and Eataly Los Angeles and which has become famous for its large open grill. The third and last floor is dedicated to events, presentations and teaching.
